Privacy policy

Effective June 26, 2026.

Tabloft is built to keep your data on your own machine. Everything you save lives in your browser's local storage. There is no account, no server, no analytics, and no third party. Nothing you do in Tabloft is transmitted anywhere.

What Tabloft stores

When you save a workspace, Tabloft stores the following locally on your device, in Chrome's per-extension storage (chrome.storage.local):

• the titles and URLs of the tabs you choose to save
• any local file paths you add (saved as file:// links)
• the to-do items and the markdown note you write in a workspace
• the names and order of your workspaces

This data never leaves your browser. It is not sent to us or to anyone else, because Tabloft has no server and makes no network requests.

What Tabloft does not do

• It does not require an account or a sign-in.
• It does not sync to the cloud or to other devices.
• It does not use analytics, tracking, cookies, or advertising.
• It does not share, sell, or transmit your data to any third party.
• It does not read or change the content of the websites you visit. Tabloft requests no host permissions for any website. There is one exception, and it applies only to files on your own computer: if you turn on Chrome's "Allow access to file URLs" (a setting that is off unless you switch it on yourself), Tabloft lays out local text files you open so they are readable instead of raw text. That happens entirely inside your browser, and nothing about the file is sent anywhere.

Permissions, and why

• tabs: to read the title and URL of your open tabs so it can save them into a workspace and reopen them later.
• storage: to keep your workspaces in your browser's local storage.
• contextMenus: to add the right-click "Save to workspace" menu.

Keeping or deleting your data

You are in control. Deleting a workspace removes it from local storage. Removing or uninstalling the Tabloft extension deletes everything it stored. Because nothing is held on a server, there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf and no data-export request to make.

Children

Tabloft is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not directed at children under 13. It collects no personal information from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with an updated effective date. Material changes will be reflected in the extension's store listing.
